The forums I consulted all said to delete some 'world' files and that it would then work.

It seems to be a known issue, something about signals in the 'world' database. There is an issue with the Greater Toronto Area route though. I was able to get the Niagara Corridor route to open and be playable with Open Rails. It's not bad - it's no Railworks, but it's really good for something completely free. In trying to solve all this, I got introduced to Open Rails - the open source train sim that can hook up to MSTS routes and such. If you encountered something similar or have a suggestion I'd be grateful. Does MSTS - v.1.5 even work on Win 10? I have tried solving this running in compatibility mode for XP and Win 7. It loads the intro with company logos and then the status bar filling up and then it does some graphical switch, like almost a windowed mode and says "error must close". So, to be quick and honest, I had bought the original MSTS decades ago when it came out and liked it but the disks have long been gone. I spent half a day wondering why I couldn't get them to show up on my Railworks profile of routes I own and locos I own - turns out that this DLC was for the original Microsoft Train Simulator. So I have these two new routes and a bunch of nice GO Trains and VIA rail and CN consists. but no, it meant Microsoft Train Simulator)

(I thought Train Simulator meant Railworks. They have a Greater Toronto Area route and a Niagara Corridor route - both of which I purchased. I found this 3rd party developer called Maple Leaf Tracks. Still, the desire for something close to home comes up. I love my UK Trains and have been really taking a liking to my German (and other European) routes and trains. While I love Railworks Train Simulator, they don't have much in terms of Canadian content.
